The Seven Seals – Seal Five*

The previous four seals have all flowed together into this fifth seals and what happens in this seal is answered in the sixth seal.

Seal Five – Martyr’s Prayer
Event Sequence # 12    (Find in the Chart)
Event Scriptures:
Revelation 6:9-11

Martyr’s Prayer Revelation 6:9-11
9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? 11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

With the fifth seal, (6:9-11) we see saints who were slain for their testimony of the word of God.  The word “slain” is the same word used with the red horse, which takes peace and causes men to kill each other.  These were slain for the written word (logos) of God and executed for their faith.  These are most likely those killed because of the previous four seals.  They receive white robes and told to rest until the fullness of those killed is completed.  This fullness is also part of the closing out of the Times of the Gentiles.

There is also another component to these martyr’s prayers and that is the death to self in an intercessors call for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  Those who have given their lives in prayer calling out to God for the manifest presence of the Holy Spirit one last time before the Rapture and Tribulation, and they are going to be answered in the next seal.

Don’t miss the next post on the Sixth Seal.  That is where it really starts getting interesting.
