Lord, Help me to love others as you love them.
Help me to see others as you see them.
We say we love our neighbors, but then we turn around and criticize them.
Would God criticize someone He loves? Not according to the Bible.
God calls those things which are not as though they were. When Christ was going to the cross he told Pilate that that one would from him would summon a legion of angels, yet he opened not his mouth. When he was hanging on the cross what was the greatest thing he said? Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.
If we are ever to cultivate the nature of God’s love in our lives we must be aware of what we are doing to those around us. We must cultivate a nature of blessing those who curse us and forgiving those who spitefully use us. When someone does something that God doesn’t like does he talk about him in a critical way. No, he speaks to that person and says,
“I LOVE YOU. I FORGIVE YOU. I DO NOT KEEP A RECORD OF THE WRONG YOU DID AND I WILL NOT SPEAK OF THIS AGAIN. I WANT TO BE A BLESSING IN YOUR LIFE.”
We are called to be like HIM. Can we seek to do anything less?
The Body of Christ must come to the understanding that we are here to be the eyes, mouth, hands and feet of HIS LOVE. It must shun the pressure to follow the world in attacking others who do things we don’t approve of. Until this happens the fulness of HIS presence cannot be experienced in our lives and we delay HIS return by our own actions.
Live in God’s Peace.
