When God created man in Genesis 1:28 He gave man THE BLESSING.
- Gen 1:28 NLT Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”
But man lost that blessing when he subjugated all of mankind under Satan (Gen 3) and began to follow Satan’s way of doing things through THE CURSE.
In order to redeem man God sent His son Jesus to pay the price for Adams actions and restore THE BLESSING. But since man has a choice he must decide to choose the way of THE BLESSING in order to activate it.
Jesus told us how to do this in Matthew 6:33:
- Mat 6:33 NLT Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.
One of the ways we seek after the Kingdom of God is by doing things the way God does them. We are to imitate God like little children (Eph 5:1). Children study their parents, they watch them, listen to them and learn by imitating the things they do and we are supposed to be the same way where God is concerned. In 2 Cor 6:17 we are called to separate ourselves from the unclean things of this world and not to touch it. This is a process of renewing our minds (Rom 12:2) and our mouths (James 3:8-15).
If we praise God with our mouths, then turn around and complain about something someone did to us, is that imitating God? We are blessing one moment and cursing the next. By doing this we are cutting off THE BLESSING from working in our lives. The words we live by will either activate or block THE BLESSING. Matthew 12:36 warns us that we will be judged by every idle word that come out of our mouths. Therefore, we must put a watch over our mouths not to say anything against another.
When you see someone do something wrong, it is not your place to judge that person for what they did. When you do that you are effectively releasing curses from your mouth and that action blocks the blessing from working in your life. It is, however, your responsibility to bless that person. In doing so you release the power of God into their lives and in your own.
Instead of talking about that awful thing that person did, say instead: “Lord, I release the blessing into their lives to experience the Love of God and grow in the wisdom and understanding of the truth.”
If someone cuts you off in traffic don’t call them a jerk and reveal your own attitude. Instead say: “Lord, I bless that person and put a hedge of protection around them that they would not be hurt but come into the Peace of God working and living in their lives.”
Don’t criticize and degrade other people, especially children. Don’t call them stupid, lazy, ignorant or worthless because these are of the curse. Instead bless them and call those things which are not as though they were. Tell them: “You are blessed of the Lord. You have the mind of Christ. You are greatly valued and love. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.”
These are just some of the ways we must separate ourselves from this world and live in the world God has for us. When we retrain ourselves to live this way we release THE BLESSING in our own lives and give God the freedom to work out His plan of an abundant life bringing spiritual, physical, financial and emotional healing.
- John 10:10 KJV The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
This world’s nature is the curse. It steals, kills and destroys everything it touches. But we have a way out through Jesus and walking in HIS ways will bring a life of abundance, joy and peace.
Learn to walk in HIS ways and experience THE BLESSING.
Live in God’s Peace.
